Officer Holly Pickett of the Urbandale Police Department is back to talk directly to our KIDS about the reality of the digital world in which we live. Topics will cover: online predator traps, how to protect themselves from online bullying, dangers of oversharing information and photos, and other tips about navigating the digital world. Handouts and resources will be available.
Because of the nature of the topics being addressed and for the comfort of each child, we are breaking this workshop into two sessions. Only one registration form needs to be filled out per family.
Saturday, July 23
Session information:
During the morning session, childcare through 2nd grade will be available. Youth 6th grade and above are welcome to hang out in a designated space while younger siblings and their parent attend the first session.
During the afternoon session, there will be no childcare, as it is a STUDENT ONLY session. You are welcome to check your student into the workshop and pick up the workshop handouts and then you are free to leave for the duration of the session.
Registration is required and closes July 20 or when all available spots for each session have been filled. Parents who have registered their children by June 30 will be entered to win a $20 gift card to be given to the parent at registration the day of the workshop!
Scholarships are available and can be requested by emailing

We are excited about this opportunity for our kids, and we can't wait to have them join us!
