Single Parent Provision

BREAK TIME

Through Break Time, single parents have frequent opportunities to bring their child(ren) to a safe, fun, and developmentally-appropriate program led by caring adults. This free service allows single parents to enjoy several hours of uninterrupted time (support) for running errands, studying, or simply having some alone time. All of the extraordinary volunteers who make Break Time possible undergo background checks and are well equipped and enthusiastic about engaging with the children who attend.

Break Time is held throughout the year at Valley Community Center in West Des Moines. Based on survey data collected from single parents, Break Times are primarily held on Saturdays.
