SINGLE MOMS GROUP - FIRST FAMILY
This Single Moms Group meets Wednesday evenings at First Family Church in Ankeny. The group meets on a weekly basis, September through April*, allowing single moms time to connect with others walking a similar journey and, together, seek what matters most. At each gathering, single moms can expect time to share, listen, laugh, and grow while participating in relevant studies in a healthy, encouraging environment. Study: In addition to the connection time that happens, this group will be going through a study focused on joy. Joy is stamped on coffee mugs, sewn onto decorative pillows—even displayed on dish soap. But what if there’s a deeper power and purpose to this mighty virtue? Through vulnerable storytelling, a difficult diagnosis, and a good dose of humor, together we will learn how joy is more than whimsy, it’s the weapon we can use to fight life’s battles. Dinner is provided for moms and their children from 5:30-6:00PM with moms then meeting from 6:00-7:30PM. Children and youth programming happens during the group meeting time through First Family Church. AWANA programming is available for kids 5th grade and under.
