Each year we look forward to our annual Single Moms Christmas Dinner, and this year is no different. In it's 5th year, we are thrilled to be holding it in beautiful downtown Des Moines at the Iowa Event Center on Saturday, December 10.

We are looking forward to celebrating single fathers at our Pre-Father's Day event, happening Sunday, June 12. From 11:30-12:30 single fathers and their children are invited to join us at Columbus Park (just a half mile south of the Iowa Cubs stadium) for a hearty lunch and fun activities to do with the kids. Then it's off to the Iowa Cubs game, as every registered father in attendance will receive tickets for themselves and their children to attend the 1:05 game.

BMW of Des Moines has selected Single Parent Provision as their Give Back Partner for the month of May! During this month, BMW will help raise awareness of our organization, programs, and events and will generously contribute a portion of each new car sale to SPP.

We are thankful for businesses like BMW of Des Moines who recognize the unique needs of single parent families and desire to partner with us in helping to meet them.

Single Parent Provision will have a table at the Eastview Community Center Summer Kick-Off and Open House this Saturday, May 16th from 11:30-1:00! The community center is located at 4101 E 42 Street in Des Moines (42nd and Hubbell). This is a free event and a great time for families to enjoy lunch, inflatables, games and prizes! Come join us!

On Monday, May 18th between 5:00 and 8:00 PM, the Paradise Pointe Chick-fil-A (on Mills Civic Pkwy) will be generously donating a portion of the evening's sales to Single Parent Provision! That night, by giving your Chick-fil-A receipt to a Single Parent Provision volunteer or designating your purchase to SPP at the drive-thru window, you are helping to further our mission and invest in the lives of single parent families...all by eating delicious chicken!

Beginning June 11th and continuing each Thursday throughout the summer, Single Parent Provision will be offering a Single & Parenting Class at the Eastview Community Center in Des Moines. This class will present Biblical truths and practical strategies for parenting without the presence of a second parent in the home. Dinner will be provided from 5:00-5:30, and the class will run 5:30-7:00.

Child care for children not yet in kindergarten is available from one of our extraordinary volunteers. In a unique partnership with Freedom for Youth (FFY), kids in kindergarten through fifth grade can register for FFY's Sonshine Kidz program meeting the same time as the Single & Parenting Class. Children will receive dinner as well.

This class is a valuable tool for all single parents. There is a $15 fee for the workbook, however scholarships are available. Single parents, consider registering, and others, consider sharing news of it with a single parent in your network of friends.  

We are excited to announce the dates of our 2015 Annual Campaign! From May 1st - May 22nd, we will concentrate our efforts on raising the support needed to fund many of our programs, services, and events that will take place throughout the year. And we're using feet, literally, to kick things off.

Friday, May 1st and Saturday, May 2nd will mark the beginning of our annual signature fundraising event, Pedis with a Purpose! By visiting our Pedis with a Purpose events page (http://www.singleparentprovision.org/pedis) and selecting the date, time, and donation level of your choice, you will be helping to continue the great work that is being done to serve single parent families in central Iowa. 

Multiple appointments are available for each time slot so consider inviting friends to join you! Those who book their appointment by APRIL 1ST will receive a Pedis with a Purpose t-shirt on their pedicure day. Single Parent Provision is excited to announce a second Break Time location!  Saturday, April 25th, 4:30 - 8:00 p.m. marks the kick-off of our newest Break Time location at the Eastview Community Center, 4101 East 42nd Street in Des Moines.  

Since Single Parent Provision's inception, our goal has been to, over time, offer our programs at various locations in efforts to reach more single parent families throughout the community.  We are thrilled to now be offering a convenient location of our Break Time program to families living on the east side of town!

More locations mean more serving opportunities. Will you consider getting involved and serving single parent families in this way?  Any parent can understand the value in getting some down time to recharge.  Providing this time for single parents is a wonderful blessing to them and their children.  Join us!
